The Cabinet Master Guide.
Most homeowners come in having read the wrong things: box construction specs from YouTube, big-box price lists that assume builder-grade everything. We built this guide from our spec books and showroom inventory. Five minutes and you'll know which tier you need, what it costs, and what questions to ask any showroom.

Seven construction criteria: box, frame, door, slides, hinges, shelving, base. Skip if you already know your stuff.

Greater Boston kitchens. What held up.
Six months to three years in. Real feedback on what worked.
We used Bay State for our kitchen remodel, including the design team. Working with the design team was great. The designer was helpful, creative, and easy to work with. Super responsive on some follow up questions we had. There was a great selection of styles, colors, and customization options at a number of budget levels. And the design team was not pushing the more expensive option. If anything they were helping us control costs. As for the project itself, the Bay State team and their contractors were great. Andreina was on top of the scheduling and great on the communication front. Special call out to Marcio who was fantastic managing the project and the contractors. He was always available to us and had some creative ideas. We were 100% satisfied.
Kitchen remodel
I went to Bay State to get replacement upper cabinets after needing to remove the old ones, but wanting to keep most of my existing kitchen. My appointments with Ray and Clara went well, and they provided clarity on the project logistics and thoughtful design recommendations including a contrasting color that matches the granite and an exact match on the cabinet hardware. I am thrilled with how the project turned out, will use them again, and highly recommend Bay State.
Cabinet replacement
Bay State Kitchen Gallery made our remodel feel easy from day one. Their design team quickly understood the dimensions of our modest kitchen and guided us toward cabinetry that maximized storage without overwhelming the space. Everything they recommended ties in beautifully with the rest of the renovation. A special thanks to Jaime, who not only presented an impressive range of kitchen and bathroom styles but also offered subtle, thoughtful tips on color pairings so the cabinets flow seamlessly with our open-concept living area. The bathroom vanity and upper cabinets she suggested are the perfect example—elegant yet perfectly sized, giving us just the right amount of storage without crowding the room. Ray was equally invaluable, giving clear, honest budget guidance. He walked us through the cost drivers—materials, finishes, lead times—so we could invest where it mattered and avoid overspending on a small kitchen and bath. From start to finish, the experience was warm, transparent, and genuinely collaborative. If you're looking for expert advice, tasteful design ideas, and respectful budget stewardship, Bay State Kitchen Gallery is a terrific choice.
Kitchen & bathroom remodel
This is the second time we've hired Bay State for a project, the first being a master bathroom renovation. Our kitchen, mudroom, and garage renovation went wonderfully, and my family loves being in our gorgeous and functional new space. The Bay State Kitchen Gallery team was extremely helpful in our design and selection process, and in particular Jimmy and Andreina made sure that we were completely happy with our selections. For the actual remodeling, the Bay State team is really responsive, and David and Marcio all went above and beyond to address any concerns that arose. We encountered a number of problems along the way (such as garage foundation issues that were unknown at the start of the project), and the team was professional in how they handled it, with minimal disruption and added cost to our overall schedule. We would recommend their services to anyone looking to do renovation work in the greater Newton area.
